In case of married couples, it often happens that for a real estate, only one of them is registered as an owner – the other party can be also registered as an owner anytime, free of charge, through a property ownership settlement.
This works the other way as well: in case the ownership of both parties is registered in the property records, the couple can enter into an agreement anytime to ask for only one of them to be registered as owner.
